Why does the best path for our nation’s future begin in America’s heartland? Because that’s where the farmers are. Farmers are good at solving problems.
Farmers own the largest asset base in America, the land. Farmers tend to be cash poor, but asset rich. Farmers are conservative by nature. They are conservative because they live in a “boom or bust” economic cycle every year.
Farmers Settled America
In 1862, war time President Abraham Lincoln signed the Homestead Act. As farmers settled the land, America was built from the bottom up by hard working people believing in the “American Dream”. Farmers own the largest asset base in America, the land. Farmers tend to be cash poor, but asset rich. Farmers are conservative by nature. They are conservative because they live in a “boom or bust” economic cycle every year.
Farmers are Essential to Core Industries
As we move into the next phases of rebooting our economy, we need to get back to the foundation of what made America great. Any plan must include Rural America, where our economy can begin to grow again with resources, infrastructure, and a mostly untapped asset base. Our National Security truly revolves around three basic pillars:
However, in the midst of the COVID-19, we are experiencing a real wakeup call. Many things that are essential to our core, especially in healthcare, are not manufactured here. This must lead to creating new opportunities in these key pillars across the country.
The Stimulation Plan
If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that we don’t need to be gathered together to work effectively anymore. As a result of this Stimulation Plan, large urban population centers will decrease and migration to rural areas will increase.
Our citizens will experience a greater sense of community, with new enterprises emerging across the country to revitalize our rural communities and ensure that we will never again be dependent on foreign healthcare, food or housing.
FFI & The Solution
With the passing of the CARES Act, our government is building a framework to bring back the post-pandemic economy, creating jobs, and solving the supply chain issues. In order to be heard in Washington, farmers need unity and focus for our movement to reach a critical mass through strength in numbers.
FFI will eventually be a trusted partner to direct the investments of farmers to high-performing companies in multiple arenas with products and services that will ultimately perpetuate the success of Rural America. Farms feed America. Imagine the consequences of an America incapable of producing its own food or pharmaceuticals. The COVID crisis should serve as a wakeup call for all of us.
